National Defence College Day Secondary School Ushafa Bwari was established by National Defence College Governing Board on 1 Aug 22. (This dream was actualized during the tenure of Rear Admiral MM Bashir, the Commandant, National Defence College). The establishment of a secondary school is aimed at providing qualitative education for the children of personnel and the host community. It is also to ensure that the children of personnel within the Area of Responsibility get the best education that is required & affordable. The School commenced academic programme on Sep 22 of 2022/2023 academic session with 136 pioneer students and 30 staff comprising of 3 military personnel, 22 teaching staff and 5 non-teaching staff. The school now has a total of 64 staff (Teaching and Non - Teaching), 385 students and substantive Commandant, Capt A. Habu.
